Hi

If i remove a computer object from a collection , it will it also remove it from AD also?

And will that deleted computer object reappear again in SCCM after a while.

Many thanks

SCCM 2012 Build 1606 - How can I expand all folders when moving an item.

Hello All,

I am moving device collections to other folders on a new SCCM server that was set up for me.  I noticed that on the previous server, the previous system administrator set it up so that a person could see all of the folders in an expanded view automatically.

For example, lets say I wanted to move a device collection.  Currently, I have to right click on the collection, click move and then a window pops up and asks what folder I want to move the collection to.  I either have to resize the window to see the folder that I want or I have to scroll down to the folder that I want.

Is there a way that I can get the "choose a folder" window to automatically open at a certain size and expand all the folders so that I can see them all at a glance?   I thought it might be faster to ask somebody here than to ask the previous administrator to try to remember (he no longer works with the company).

Thank you,

Mike

Hi,

I'm testing the System Center 1606 on my network and the installation failed when trying to create the SQL Database.  When I went to re-install, the only options I get are:

- Recover a site
- Uninstall this Configuration Manager site.

I originally tried install the Technical Preview over top of the broken installation but I get this when I try to uninstall the site:

Server hosting SC: lsf-srv02.FQDN
My SQL server is: BPTSSRV.FQDN
Site was: 001

When I tried to install the first time, I forgot to give my admin account the ability to create a new database on the SQL Server which is the reason the SQL failed.

I tried the "recover a site" option but it cannot find the database to restore.

When I try to recover the central administration site i reference the box that hosted the site originally, LSF-SRV02.fqdn but it says "Specified site is not primary site"

The "Recover Primary Site" option is greyed out.

Does anyone know a way to fully uninstall the stand alone primary site without using the Setup Wizard?

Are there registry entries I can delete and folders to delete that will allow me to reinstall?

You assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

- Jason

Installing SCCM Client while Patch-Window

Hey guys

I am planning to deploy and install the SCCM Client for v1606 during a patch window. Can that cause a problem by missing patches on the clients? Does the SCCM client Installation affects the patch installation?

I mean the Client should be installed after the patches, so that the connectivity-lost during installation is not damaging the patch-installation...

Good morning,

We have a system center installation and we want to deploy a few VMs on a partner cloud and manage them through our SysCtr instance.

We don't have control or details on the physical servers/vmware farm where these VMs will be deployed so I would need clarification on how these Server MLs shall be licensed.Thanks/Brgds

hey all,

can someone confirm which statement is correct please:

in Maintenance Windows,  Apply this Schedule to:

All Deployments = All Packages, Applications, CI's....etc EXCLUDING Software Updates??

Example:

Server A is a member of Collection X and Collection Y.

Collection X has a Maintenance Window 9 pm to 11 pm Apply to All Deployments.

Collection Y has a Maintenance Window 4 am to 5 am Apply to Software Updates.

Software Updates deployed to Collection Y with the Setting to allow Software Update to install Outside MW but Reboot within MW, will the server reboot during All Deployments MW or Software Updates?

Regard

Imad.

Some clients are not getting policies

Hello,

In my company we getting a strange problem. Few computers had succesfully installed configuration manager but few days ago (I don't know why) they stopped getting updates, apps, etc. In SCCM console they're visible and status is Active.

I foud out that, they are not getting policies. In action tab there are only 2 actions.

Location and MP in Configuration manager is set correctly.

I've already tried reinstalling client, repair WMI but with no luck. What makes it more funniest - few moments after reinstallation client is getting policies correctly, all actions are visible, there are no errors in logs but after few minutes it's all gone.

Thanks in advance for help.
